About Paul
Paul Hooke is an Associate Director at Bishop Collins, rejoining the team in 2024 after his first stint from 2011 to 2017 as a Client Manager. With a career that began in 2004, Paul has always focused on one key mission: demystifying Australia’s complicated tax system and helping his clients achieve the best possible outcomes within the legal framework.
Paul’s approach is refreshingly straightforward-he avoids “Accountants Speak” and instead explains tax and accounting concepts in terms that make sense to his clients. His experience spans public practice, financial controller roles (both outsourced and in-house), and running his own accounting firm, giving him a broad understanding of business and finance.
A Chartered Accountant and registered tax agent, Paul holds a Bachelor of Management from the University of Newcastle, majoring in Accounting and Entrepreneurship.
When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find Paul on the sidelines of his kids’ sports games, out on the water, or attempting to conquer a local golf course.
His favourite quote:
“I don’t live to work; I work to live” – Noel Gallagher, a reminder that work should be the path to enjoying life, not the definition of it.
